Some of the conkers collected from the tree at the bottom of the garden.
I dont know what i am going to do with them.

No you dont see kids playing conkers these day but there are some competitions held .
ive added another 10 fallen from the tree overnight lol

They look like hazel nuts...is that the same as a 'conker'? What is the game of conkers? I've never heard of it? I'm sure the kids are too busy with their PSP's or whatever new gadget came out today, to play conkers!

Conkers are horse chestnuts.
The game is to attach conkers to pieces of string.
One player holds the string with conker hanging below.
Other player tries to hit conker with theirs, also on string.
The World Conker Championships are held every October in Northamptonshire in England. If you Google this you can see photos. :o)
This year the organisers were worried about a shortage of conkers because of disease in the Horse Chestnut trees. The annual event raises thousands of pounds to support charities for the blind. :o)
The only conker which isn't a horse chestnut is my Shetland Sheepdog called Conker. :o)
