Christmas Cactus 2009-11-25 003

Christmas Cactus 2009-11-25 003 (Schlumbergera truncata)

This is the original plant. I have had it now for at least 4 years. Every year it flowers in November. This plant, which was on the balcony all summer, normally lives in the kitchen but, for the first time this year, I put it outside on the balcony but it doesn't seem to have increased the number of flowers as I had hoped! Just the opposite in fact!

I found another page today that explains how to get them to flower & how to look after them.

Unfortunately the flowers are now falling off :-( It's a shame their flowering period is so short.
