Balcony from street with newly planted Pansies & Violas 2010-10-12

This is a view of my balcony from the street with all my newly planted Pansies & Violas!

The Pansies are in the white troughs while the Violas are in the clay pots in rings on the balcony railings. They are all underplanted with bulbs. Unfortunately the hanging baskets have no bulbs as being above head high they would never been seen!

Thanks, Janey, but having such a small space to grow things in I have to make use of every inch! Although you can't see it there is a square plastic table crammed full of more plants!

Lol....I see why you love it, everything to hand and to water...looks like a proper Spanish balcony, Balcony....:o))

LOL! Janey! Few balconies even in Spain can compare to mine! I used to do the same in Spain, plants on the balcony floor, on the railing & climbing up to the ceiling of the balconies as well!

You must get a lot of "tourists" staring up at your balcony and taking photos. So ingenious.

Thanks, FF. But as the balcony is at ground level nobody needs to stare up at it. The photo is taken from the piece of grass outside the balcony between us & the street.

I've never actually seen people taking photos of the balcony but many do stop & comment on it - even to me at times!

I like to grow as much as I can though, with the allotment taking up almost all my free time & energy, I've rather neglected it this year.

I am sure that it will look as beautiful as always.

Very funny thing:- when I first looked at your blog, I didn,t have my specs on straight and thought that it said ".....Pianos and violins.." I was going to ask you about music lessons - duh :-)))

I could give you gardening lessons but definitely NOT music lessons. A screaming tomcat with its tail being squashed would sound heavenly beside me! LOL!

We can't all be good at everything otherwise the world would be a very boring place.

Thank you for your wishes in respect of my great- grandaughter. I think I may have found how to transfer pics from the dreaded Facebook (where other people have put them) to here, but am awaiting permission from their owner (one of my grandaughters) Oh my, I have just discovered hwo difficult it is going to be to explain to people when necessary, just who is who in my ever-growing family.
Take care
