A recent whimsical, but inexpensive, purchase (I like the colour).

Isn't it, Arlene? £4.99 from TK Maxx, and they have a brilliant chocolate-coloured watering can, too, which we hope to get on pay day!

It does look like a rocket. Just imagine the birds sat in there waiting for take-off! :)

I hope so Arlene!
It is metal, Tt, not sure if copper or tin. Don't know if it heats up, haven't had and heat yet, lol! But - a serious consideration if birds were to ever think of using it!
Hahaha, Gee! Now I'm trying hard to think of suitable bird names, haha!
Hope you get one, Sewingkilla. This store has lots of great "chocolate-coloured garden ornaments at the mo!

It's lovely David. It reminds me of the Tin Man but that was from your other garden....LOL.

Sorry to rain on your parade, David - but as this week is bird-house week, I read that you shouldn't let birds nest in metal houses, as the chicks would die if the sun (ever) came out and shone on them.
I like it, too - but only as an ornament, I'm afraid.

Cool... I was thinking of Tin Man, but that's your old theme! I don't know if small birds would choose to nest in it because the openings are large and starlings etc. would have easy access to nestlings... But as a garden feature I love it....especially the texturizing of the metal...and the colour!

Spritz, of course we shouldn't As my title says, this is purely ornamental! I just hope that no bird decides to seriously set up home here. Must fill soon with a netted seed and nut feed, to prevent squatters (or squawkers?).
Gilli and Lori! Hi, again! "Tin Man" is still with us, and will be starring (albeit in 2 new roles) in our new garden - but you'll have to wait months for his Oscar-nomination-worthy performance, lol! - X
