Meanie, this stem is small, only around 8 feet/ 2.5 meters tall...however, many large trunks were cut down and thinned out...which is common practice here because these plants have so many trunks and grow tall, wild in a short period of time.

In inland San Diego it can get very hot and humid...especially during the monsoonal flow. However, Houston is still on average hotter and more humid than where I live. Although, I've had heat indices up to 132F/55.5C. here in summer.
