thats lovely, its very well maintained ~ best to keep on top of those otherwise the weeds suddenly take over.

Yes - but no problem if there's membrane under the pebbles, then it's incredibly easy to pull out weeds. Maybe you'll see this place for yourself sometime this year?! (only 4 Open Days, remember? next one 5th Feb. :))
What surprises me is the proximity of the stones to the grass . . . my OH pretty much bans gravel beds next to the lawn because you have to be so careful with the mower!

I have gravel next to grass ... by my Gromit's Gravel Gardens and other places .. yes ... have to be careful with the mower ... I inspect the lawn edges before I cut the grass ...

That's right Sticki . . . if it was mine I'd be out there admiring it all the time, instead of having cosy chats on here!

Stop doing yourself down lass! Your photo gallery is a bit thin but there's a pic on your garden on there I would be proud of!! I sometimes look at my pics and think.."is that really my garden??", cos in real life 8 weeks out of 10 it never looks that good!

do you mean my garden tet? it was laid out by the previous people and it has a lot more weeds in than it used to have when they were here ~ they left everything immaculate!! im not an immaculate sort!!!

Nor me Sticki..Im too lazy for that! However, when all the flowers are in bloom, take a picture..bet you wont notice the weeds then! Im just lucky my OH is a weedkiller par excellence..if he sees a weed, up it comes..however, I have lost a few dutch iris and kniphofia Little Maids, when he thought they were wild onions and grass!!!

OH is not a gardener ~ doesnt know a weed from a flower but likes it to look nice and does the lawns!
he has been known to dig out lovely plants that i am nurturing and carefully dig round and look after the weeds ~ he really has no idea!!
in the last 2 years he has begun to know a few plant names
5 Feb, 2011
My OH doesn't know many plant names, but he makes up some wonderful alternatives! If I don't know, I just say "isn't it Amnesia?" lol.
