Thanks girls ...I have had this cyclamen for years Carole and some others the same in the garden , I'm very pleased with them ,they have been flowering for weeks ... in fact I must look back at my photos to see when I put the first photo on here ....
I've checked and the first flowers on the cyclamen were the 22nd January , that's almost 2 months of continuous flowers and they look as if they will go on for longer still .. :o)

Is Coum the Name Amy?
19 Mar, 2010
Yes Carole the coum ( jan. to march ) is the winter one and hederifolium is the autumn one ( sept to Nov. )
I have bought some of the brightly coloured ones that you often see but they don't seem to last outside ...

Beautiful, I must get some coum. When is the best time to set them Amy? in the Autumn. No daffs out here yet :-( Set my wild stocks out amongst the trees yesterday :-))) So exciting, I set out about 50 plants, I'm so pleased they survived the Winter in the cold frame and now we have them, we can have seeds forever, thanks Amy.

Hi Dawn , I have seen some of the coum in pots , i think if they are in pots you can set them in whenever you like ..... I saw some on the market stall the other day ....
I'm so pleased that your stocks have survived , they must be quite hardy because mine have been out all winter , 50 plants is a fabulous start , I wonder if they flower in their first year I can't wait to see them ...
Dawn , I can't help laughing , when I went back in the autumn to collect the seed they were so overgrown with nettles and other wild stuff , supposing they don't turn out to be stocks ....LOL.. you will put me in the stocks !!!

Hi Amy, I'll look out for coum in pots Amy, thanks.
I do hope the stocks flower this year, we'll have to wait and see, its so exciting.
Oh Amy, lol, if they turn out to be weeds its not a problem, it wont be the first time I've nurtured weeds, ha ha. I just appreciate the trouble you went to, to collect them and send them to me.
