Finn

This is Finn our rescued Spanish Terrier, here he is looking for gheckos behind the shutters. He had been a hunting dog but was left on the hillside and was really emaciated when we got him. Now he's enjoying English life and is spoilt rotten!

Wonderful photo.

Were there other terriers in Spain which looked similar to Finn?

23 Aug, 2008

Well, we didn't see any quite like him, Terratoonie. There were so many miss treated animals that it broke your heart. We think Finns part Fox terrier and Jack Russell, maybe with a bit of Schnauzer too, and there were plentry of those
When we took him to be clipped, he was clipped like a Schnauzer. A feral cat came to us too with two tiny starving white kittens. Nina stayed in Spain though with our neighbours. I see you have a photo of a standard fox terrier is he?

Your Finn looks definitely to have some Schnauzer in him, and being clipped like a Schnauzer adds to this effect. The white body with black patches would indicate maybe Wire Haired Fox Terrier. He is absolutely lovely.
How old is he now?

The dog on my main photo is a Welsh Terrier. The same colouring as an Airedale Terrier but the size of a Wire Fox Terrier. He is pushing his wheelbarrow - part of his garden theme trick routine, which also includes 'measuring the plot' with an oversized plastic toy retractable tape measure, fetching a toy trowel, fork, bucket etc., finding a toy hedgehog, and bringing me a basket of artificial flowers.
He also tows around a worm-on-wheels, en route to the 'compost heap' !

This dog is nearly 13 years old now, but recently won a trick competition with this gardening routine, over all the younger dogs !

Thank you for posting the pictures of Finn. They are wonderful.

Thank you for your lovely comments Terratoonie, your Welsh Terrier, sounds a lot of fun, and very clever!, I think Finn would love him as long as he could sit and watch! He likes to do his own thing, play and sleep in the garden and not too many walks, thank you! He'll soon be 11yrs.old and is a super little dog, very friendly and won't bark at all, so not too good on the guard front he'd probably lick intruders to death!

This pic. of Finn is on my favourites.
He is so lovely!
I've recently uploaded photos of my dogs with their mowers, so Finn could act as supervisor for both of them. And maybe explain to Conker that mowing in straight lines is better than circles. :o)

Ha....ha TT, can just picture them, think Finn would look good wearing a mortar board and black gown, he could paw out diplomas to the most successful mower!! lol.

You mean FINN would have to decide who FINNished first?

Not easy for Finn because my dogs compete in different categories:

Bonsai's mower is larger and bought locally.
Conker's John Deere mower is more compact and specially imported from the U.S.A.

Recently there was a local TV report on the World Lawn Mower Championships, with a winner from East Anglia.

Machines reached over 50 mph, so my dogs might not be quite up to speed...

Ha...ha, maybe you could treat them to ride on ones!

Janey ~
Great idea, especially as Bonsai gets older.
Do you have any more photos you can upload of Finn, please?
