This gigantic Indian Laurel is in Balboa Park, San Diego. It's widely used as a street tree throughout most of Southern and Coastal California. It of course, is kept much smaller as a street tree. Photo taken Sept. 29, 2010.

Tugbrethil:
I think this tree with many of the other gigantic Ficus trees in San Diego were planted in the early 1920's. Unfortunately, there's not much documentation on these very large Ficus trees in Balboa Park.

Commonly used here in Phoenix, too, though that is bigger than any I have ever seen. A lot of them went down hard in the frost of 2007.
