Sorry about your big puddle !! hope it goes as quickly as it came...

It was a burst water main on the main road and the only way was down - down my road, down my path, down my garden. The water board were on the case very speedily, dug a big hole and like Jim, fixed it. Everything drained away - into my garden and the path and road were left with a film of clay. Then the rain arrived (oh boy, did the rain arrive) and washed it all away. On a recce to the greenhouse I noticed air bubbling in the lake on the lawn - shows how dry the ground gets with the eucalyptii sucking all the moisture out. The lake has now gone but it's all very squelchy. I've put the wellies away again.

Just think..... to irrigate a garden so thoroughly...some people would pay a lot of money via their water meter. Your water was free ! Lol.:o)

I can sympathise as my garden path looks like this whenever it rains! Hopefully next spring my lovely son-in-law and friend are going to raise the path for me. I have a permanent row of stepping stones along the path so I can keep my feet dry at the moment but sometimes it's a job balancing :)

Perhaps you need a balancing pole like tightrope walkers use, Gee. Don't know how you'd carry any shopping in though. lol

It's when I'm carrying shopping that I'm a bit wobbly, Wagger :)
