If this is one of the Flower Pot People training for the Winter Olympics.... to compete against the GoY Wellie Olympic Team.....
... then we need to be worried.... very worried...
....and must step our training regime immediately ! :o(

I don't thionk it will stand too close an observation! A bit blurry too, can't trust ones spouse with the camera. I think it's because she was shaking her head so much saying " Very childish!!"

Are you sure girls this is a flower pot man !!!! and not a snail poseing as a flower pot man, as its been crawling, take closer look at the knee pads. Look at the slime trail over the bottom pots, I m sure its a snail.

No, he's not that slow although he wouldn't mind being caught in a beer trap!!!

They already know I'm a bit nutty, Gee. Like my eldest Graeme, do anything for a laugh. I hope he gets plenty of laughs tomorrow. He's performing at a very big showcase for one of the very big agents in the South of England(showcase in Bognor Regis). And presumably lot's of showbus' people will be in including the reveiwer from 'The Stage'(the industry newspaper). If so, I hope he's a bit kinder than he was once before to graeme. Let's say he didn't pull any punches. But Graeme's improved and more confident now, but most of all, more prepared!

Adverts for raised beds next to this photo, Paul...
I know where Julie thinks you'll be sleeping this evening. ;o)

Out with the manure , no doubt!

Hope things go well for Graeme, Paul. It must be nerve-wracking for all of you on these occasions.

Flob a top

And the same to you Davey(ha ha)
Yes, a bit nervy Gee. You'd think I'd be used to it by now. But it went very well even though he did the afternoon session where there is no public audience, just 30 or 40 trade people. But he got laughs which is difficult with just trade. Hopefully, he'll get some work from it. The agent certainly thought he was well received and he came accros well and confident to me(like an old pro!!)
There was another young comedian (very young only about 19 or 20 but unfortunately he died on his (let's say backside) as the showbiz saying goes. Felt very sorry for him but pleased it wasn't Graeme!

Glad that Graeme did well and hope that it will bring him some work. Being something of an introvert I am always amazed by people who do this sort of thing - I would end up like the other poor comedian.

The other lad was far from intoverted, Gee. He was full of himself , a bit too much if truth be told. But he had tremendous confidence and enthusiassm as well as good presence on stage. All he needs to do is develop his stage craft and dealing with an audience which I'm sure he will. I have a feeling that some time in the future that lad will get some big breaks. Graeme, who is 6 years older and more experienced (although still young for a comic) is just happy to make a reasonable living doing what he loves!
I love to tell a joke bvut certainly couldn't go on stage and do what Graeme does!!! ( Perhaps it's a case of no sense, no feeling , but don't tell him I said that!)

It's strange how members of the same family differ, Paul. I have identical twin daughters, one very extrovert and the other more like me! My grandson, whose Mum is the extrovert, has always been into acting and appeared on TV some ago in a series when teenagers took over the role of teachers at a school!! Quite entertaining but I didn't admit to knowing him at the time :) He now hopes to join the police force!

Yes, Gee my two boys are completely different. One , so laid back, he's almost asleep most of the time and Graeme always talking , joking etc. Although Lloyd has come out of himself slightly recently as he's done a few gigs with his band and one solo! But he's nowhere near as confident as Graeme. As for your grandson, good for him going on the tv.
Graeme actually appeared on a live BBC1 programme hosted by Graham Norton in Feb 2007. He did a bit of silly comedy but only for just over a minute!

Thanks Holly. Well that's it nearly done for another year....just the noisy fireworks to upset Paddy till about 2am New year's day to look forward to now!
27 Dec, 2009
it comes and goes so quickly doesnt it... after all the months of getting things ready...... my yorkies are deaf now.. so wont be hearing the fireworks on new years eve.... i used to dred it as they used to get so nervous...... hope paddy doesnt suffer to much....
27 Dec, 2009
We don't do too much preparing for christmas these days, just wait till about mid December to start! Paddy goes beserk , he thinks its someone knocking on the door or window, I think! Mind you, I won't be here as I've got to take Graeme down your way . He's doing a gig in Bognor Regis new year's eve so we won't leave there till 1am ish. So Julie will have to cope on her own trying to console Paddy! People do go a bit mad with the fireworks now!
27 Dec, 2009
its awful with the fireworks.. i used to have to take Ella in bed with me as she wouldnt settle down..... now there older, its nice they cant hear them..... is your son doing a gig in Butlins in bognor..... which is a few miles from me.....
27 Dec, 2009
No. I'm not sure of the name of the place but it's an indoor bowls/sports centre and it's an annual new year event organised by the local indoor bowls league, I belive. He did it 2 years ago but | didn't go with him that time. They've got a band and a couple of singers on as well as Graeme's comedy spot and he'll also compere the evening( do the new year countdown etc as well) Should be good, just a shame I'm driving so can't have a couple of drinks. Never mind, I'm not much of a drinker anyway!

Hob bob flobalob, little weeeed ! Just what I wanted to be when I grew up too !!! :-)
27 Dec, 2009
hope you have a good evening.. im not sure where it is your going.... happy New year....
27 Dec, 2009
It's about all I'm any good at MuddyW.
Thanks Holly. No I don't know the exact details of where it is . Graeme has the address.
27 Dec, 2009
My neighbourhood had fireworks going off unexpectedly on Christmas Day and Boxing Day... Truffle was a bit unsettled so I turned the TV up LOUD....
I hope Graeme's booking goes well. :o)
27 Dec, 2009
Thanks Tt. I hope it's a bit better than the hotel in Bournemouth last night. It was a bit tough. A lot of miserable people there. Lots of them were moaning about various things to the staff when we got there so I suppose they had Boxing Day blues! Some liked the show but a few blank faces! I think Graeme's getting a bit hardened to it now. "I get paid whether they laugh or not" I don't think that's quite the attitude but as the man said " You can please some of the people some of the time etc......"
27 Dec, 2009
Just out of interest Hollyeves, that place Graeme's doing new year's eve is Arun District Indoor bowling club, Nyewood lane bognor!
28 Dec, 2009
OH Thanks Paul......... the other side of Bognor from me then.... havnt heard of the Arun District indoor bowling club...... hope you have a good night with your son....
29 Dec, 2009
Thanks Holly. I have been to Bognor area quite a few times with Graeme (various places) but I don't really know the area well.(Newtown social club, a hotel in Felpham called Beechcroft and more) I get routes off the internet. But for about 6 years Graeme was resident at a holiday centre which can't be more than a few miles from you. South Downs Bracklesham Bay near Chichester. It was a lovely area near East and west wittering!
29 Dec, 2009
Thats not to far away from me..............Felpham is not to far either.... have a good night......
