Climbing Fuchsia

Climbing Fuchsia (Fuchsia)

Not really a climber as it has to be staked and tied.
I grew two from 4 inch plants. One in the sun and one in the shade. They both reached 8 feet high in under 6 months. Very leggy but plentiful and lovely blooms from top to bottom

I love the way they hang. Nice color.

I saw this climbing Fuchsia "Lady Boothby" for the very first time in a garden centre near where I live. I didn't know there were any "Climbing" Fuchsias till I saw this plant on here some months ago. The plants were too expensive for me to buy but I would've liked one (at least LOL!) to add to my upright & hanging Fuchsias as well as my standards.

I liked the flowers as well.

Very delicate and prety. Are they hardy?

I also would like to know if they are hardy. They are very pretty.

Pasuki & Petertoone I did a search on the internet about the hardiness of this Fuchsia & it seems that, yes, it is hardy in the UK so you can leave it in the ground over winter with just a little protection around its roots.

Copy & paste this internet address into your browser address bar at the top of the page & you will be able to read about Fuchsias classified as being hardy.

Hope you both, as well as anybody else who reads this, get to enjoy your plants for many years. :-)

Here is another link to the British Fuchsia Society's website where you will find a lot more on Fuchsias.
