Ah, cute! Have you got a heron scarer san?....and a sonic cat scarer?....and you'll be needing some net over the water to stop the birds of prey and gulls.......! ;)

nah, nothing karen, i hate netting spoils the look and someone said plastic herons dont work, also i have a cat who doesnt even know the fish are there yet lol, will just keep fingers crossed , its pretty much tucked away my pond and lots of pots and my small trees and things so hope thats enough, will see anyway

Karen with the pump fountains Sandra and i have it would be hard work with net over the pond to clean pump out.

yes that true and also was told heron needs a run to land and take off, with all stones and pebbles would make it harder, time will tell

Hmmmm.....don't think Heron is too bothered by lack of runway San...sorry! I had visits from Sparrowhawk, seagulls and heron at my last address and the pond there was tiny. no problem after I got the plastic heron, but i never did like that plastic heron!! It's just nature isn't it...you take your chances. Enjoy them while they are there and if they get stolen.....get some more....or leave the pond for the froggies! I agree about net. I would never do that. However, if you tie nylon sewing thread randomly over the pond, to slightly raised sticks, that works a treat and you don't see it. The birds do though and it puts them off.
