YAY!!! Pussy Willows

YAY!!! Pussy Willows (Salix discolor (Pussy Willow))

My daughter called me to go for a walk with her and this was where she wanted to take me, she had found these and wanted to surprise me with them...I did get a bit to bring home and it is now sitting in a canning jar of water. :)

How wonderful, and what a great surprize. Can't wait to get a glimpse of these myself. Only another month or two.

We have not had snow for ages Arlene it has been in the 50's here for a while now..that is the water's edge that looks white..we are at the beach on the shore of the Straits of Juan De Fuca in this shot.

She is Aster, and Toto..she does know very well. thank you both

I was surprised these are out this early but we now have daff's and tulips poking up and I did see a primrose blooming on its own in my rock garden..We walked throught the park that we had to to get to the pussy willow and there is a lot going on there..another week and it will be popping with blooms..

My daughter's name is Heather, Toto..did you see it somewhere? She is very beautiful, inside and out. Thank you.... :)

We have always treasured out pussy willows here Milky, they are the harbingers of spring for us...my mother was madly in love with them as well.

Arlene, I do believe we are n a colder cycle for now, but I have seen it much colder and much worse in this area. I lived through 100 mph winds while living on a boat in the San Juan Islands in 1990. That is just north of here, I can see the islands from a beach here not far away. The freezing was fierce, it froze salt water from one end of our 50ft boat to the other with the waves that crashed over her. The worst of the storm started before Christmas, blew everything to bits and did not quit giving us ice and snow storms although on a lesser scale until mid to late January. We were trapped for the most part of that time on the island, as the ferries were only making one trip a day if the weather allowed it. I have not felt anything so cold ever before or since.
