This is Birtie's favouritest place to sit.... (Felix domesticus 'Varigatus')

It's nice and warm in the greenhouse and this is a good place to sit for spying on the birdies ;-)

Thank you Gee - I thought it was sweet when I bought it and I think it looks nice in the greenhouse :-)

Jac - I bet they like to watch all the strange things you do with those silly plants - I know mine does! She sits on this shelf with her head hanging over the edge watching me potting on n' stuff :-)

Hmm, I hope not too! I have caught Birts a couple of times walking STRIAGHT OVER my plants in pots in the greenhouse :-S She gets told off when she does stuff like that. She tends to be on best behariour when I'm there...but it's when I'm not there that mysterious little footprints appear in pots! I'm trying to preserve a little walkway around the shelves so she has somewhere to put her feet ;-)

She's got some catnip in the garden - goes right silly over it too :-)

Jac - Hmmm yes I know the sort of 'help' you mean from when I do my painting - Birtie loves to get in on it and usually hides all my paintbrushes under the chairs!

That sounds very clever of Febe - must be hard for her to carry the slippery ping-pong ball! Birts loves sticks (hence the paint brush facination), string, catnip anything, her 'shaking critter' which she likes to stamp on (!) and her ball with the feathers attached that she likes to throw up into the air. Nutty - you're right there!

Before now she's jumped off there onto my back when I've been working! Doesn't half give me a fright! We've just had new neighbours move in this weekend....they got two little kids and Birts is scared to death of little children (I think she must have been hurt or freightened by some at her first home) and they've also got a cat - to arrive later in the week - poor Birtie!

Aww... Birtie...you just have to put that new cat in it's place!! You reign here...and don't let them forget it!
Once had a cat who liked to lurk... he jumped up on the counter...to the top of the fridge to the top of the cabinets and would sit there like the reigning monarch or a vulture..(.could never decide) and to get him down I would have to coax him onto my shoulders...got to be a routine..."Meow..Meow."..(from above) and Mom would have to come over to the fridge and prepare for touch down...He always got a snuggle before being placed gently on the floor! They set us up for these interactions...I often wondered if I trained Lucky or if he trained me!

Poor Birt's terratory is getting smaller and smaller - there's a cat on both sides now :-( My old girl used to jump onto my shoulder from the garage roof - she loved to be carried around up on my shoulder - made her feel all important it did :-) Birts is more of a 'lurk around in the shadows trying not to be noticed' sort!

I think I recognize that behaviour.... I called it doing a "!poof!" K.C. (kitty cat, the cat in the pic with Yoshi) was famous for that...now you see me ...now you don't kinda thing...his timing was practiced and impeccable at meal times...
