Harvested the potatoes from one of our sacks this morning. 33 decent-sized potatoes from 3 seed tubers. Not bad, as I would expect 10-12 per tuber from plants grown in the ground. total weight = 4 1/2 ilbs (just over 2 kgs).

They definitely look good enough to eat. Great return for three seed potatoes.
That is double what I got from my one potato (12oz) per pot.

Thank You! Aways grow some veggies (actually prefer this to flowers, etc). As you say, Okasia, there's nothing like them. :-))
Cutting open the sack, plastic, and delving into the compost was definitely exciting, Scotsgran. Was a bit dubious, I must admit. I think that the black plastic and hessian sack provided insulation and moisture retention. The 2 sacks have had plenty of watering, no feeding at all, and the basic multi-purpose compost was damp and warm all the way to the bottom. Hoping for similar crop from the other sack, which was planted up a couple of weeks later, so the shaws have not begun to turn yellow quite yet.

You've done well there, David, I had a very low yield on my pot potatoes this year. Still two pots to go so maybe better when left a little longer.
