Aaaah, Lobelia ... if I buy them, I can grow them ... if I sow them, I can't grow them. Are they my friend or foe? They taunt me they do ... swines.

I feel a rant commin' on! You know what - I read the packet, I sowed them, they germinated, they went mouldy - so I tried again. I read the packet, I sowed them, they germinated, they didn't go mouldy - I put them outside for about an hour on a warm day, they wilted, I brought them back in, they went mouldy and died. In disgust I threw them at the compost heap. A couple of weeks ago - hey presto, bleedin' training lobelia trailing from the bottom of the open heap. I whacked them with a spade for a while.

Taunt me they does!

So I gave in a bought a tray of 24 for £3 in Tesco ... fine specimens they are too currently growing in Mrs V's chimney pot.

I like the pale blue/aqua colour in yours very much ... reminds me of my Nan's kitchen for some reason .... which is nice :) Now I feel all warm and not ranty at all.

Lovely basket :)
