I'm really thrilled with the colour... must get out the macro and try for a pic of the interior!

Lovely iris - it looks like a rich royal velvet!

Thank you, Grammazoo! It is real eye candy, aye? I bought it at the local Independent Grocer... they have the President's Choice plants...and every time we go to the grocery store I manage to finagle a trip out to the garden tent. This iris looked great, unlike some specimens...a little the worse for some really cold weather after a period of warmth...it's visible in all the plant on offer just about everywhere... been a really WEIRD spring (weather-wise). Just found a Japanese Maple on offer at the same place (looking a little worse for wear) for $20.00 Last year I saw a similar specimen in Ottawa with a $129.99 price tag!!!!
