I just had to post another shot. I wrote a blog about the walk where I found these. Such a sight! I've waited years to run across this wild spring wonder.

It might be for the cold. That is part of its delicacy. I was surprise that there was no accompanying foliage. They just burst out of the ground like a crocus.
