Just had a look Bjs........theres plenty of info to go at, you may see the same one as yours. Very interesting profile about the primulas and glasshouses, and lovely doggie Jamie, my boy Jim was Jamie till he was about 12!..........:o)
BTW if you add the plant name when you post your pic, even if it's just the Trillium bit, your pic and comments will be added to the rest in that category.

This looks rather like Trillium albidum. Does that ring any bells, Bjs?
Chrispook, Trilliums are the American 'Wake Robins'. They are woodland bulbs and the species can have red, white or yellow flowers. They are very special and beautiful plants.

Sticki
they are available quite widely, however now is not a good time to move them, Burncoose Nursery sell a number of different ones, but only send them out in late autumn.Scottish nurseries have them as well.if they send them out bare root they have often been imported from the United States which is where they grow wild and will take a couple of years to settle down, hope that helps.

yes, very helpful, many thanks.

burncoose web site says they send out the dry corms during september to november ~ is that english ones? do they grow successfully from the dry corm?

Trilliums are best bought as growing plants in pots (not easy to find) or dry tubers from a nursery that has grown and lifted them for your sale. They won't stand too much drying but by sending from September to November only it sounds as if this grower may be OK.
Do you live anywere near to Wilsmlow in Cheshire. There is an AGS show at the High School on Holly Road, SK9 1LX on April 30. You may well find pot grown trilliums available from trade stands or the club sales tabel there - no promises mind!

just looked at it ~ many thanks bjs thats not too far at all ~ nice afternoon trip out and i think its the one that was recommended by a tiny little plant sales shop that i also visit. thank you for that.
you could be right about the holiday ~ cant go to malvern and lulu's bluebell trip may be difficult too; as well as that im not so sure about the flying ~ bumpy ride back from edinburgh last weekend. i fear the weather will break too.
thank you for all your help.

Sticki if you have not been to ashwoods its probably the best nursery within a 50 mile radius of you.and the food is worth going for alone.morning would be better than afternoons this time of year.unless you like big crowds. The last time I visited when I returned to the car there was a Adder sheltering from the sun underneath the car with his head just sticking out.
