Anthurium in the house. (Anthurium)

My getting old Anthurium 'Florida'. Nice one to own with all the many dwarf Anthuriums out there. This heirloom cultivar I think it is.

It loves the spot! I love Anthuriums!

Unfortunately, I don't have any...they only live about 10 years and then decline here. They do grow very well outside here, though.

They are another world of plants. Some of the big wild types are fantastic. Strictly for south Florida and even then cold waves damage them, kill some I hear.
The few from high mountains are worth a try. I have A.andicola and its easy outdoors. The flower is kind of dull..but nice arrow foliage.

The large-leaf species are usually the hardiest. I've had my Athurium 'Lazarz' since 2002 and it's does very well outside in the shade.

Here's a pic from about 10 years ago. It still looks very good.

I've never heard of Anthurium andicola. I'll have to check it out.

I like that. Its not around any longer?
A.andicola has very variable foliage. I would love to get the one that has the big heart shaped leaves. Right now I have the more common Arrow like leaves..looks very much like a Philodendron. Its hardy down to the 20's.

No, I don't think it's available anymore. Anthurium 'Lazarz' was hybridized by the owner of Rancho Soledad's daughter. I think it was limited. My friend and I purchased one during a visit out to Rancho Soledad Nurseries back in 2002. My friend said his is still thriving on neglect. My plant doesn't get much attention, either. It's a very tough Anthurium.
