Thanks, Meanie.

You are good at getting seeds to germinate, Grindle! I'm green with envy here....:-)))

This is one of those I lost from TM, hink I may try seeds too!

Do you buy them or collect them off the plant?

13 Jul, 2010

collect them off the plant and sow them straight away, it seems only to be the A Major that germinates, I've tried it with some of the colours but with no luck, but I keep trying LOL

Not sure I want any more of these, though. :-((( Now if it were the beautiful coloured ones....like that one in the advert to our right...mmmmmmmm....

I looked at the seed heads of Roma yesterday they were empty, nada :(((
Do you mean the Venice or the Florence, I rather like Venice, but it's that place again, so I'll wait until I see it elsewhere

Venice - that colour is intense in the photo! Lovely! If I come across one, it will come home with me. :-)))))

Funnily enough I've never seen astrantia in any of my customer's gardens. Are they easy to grow/hardy/evergreen etc. What care do they require?

22 Nov, 2010

I grow mine in part-shade, and they're hardy. They also grow in sun. This one is growing on the stream bank - and it's very happy there. They do prefer some moisture in the soil.

Oh, and it's a herbaceous plant.
