That is fantastic!
How old would it be roughly?

Meanie:

It was probably moved to this spot...because Quail Botanical Gardens is only about 35 years old or so...and this Ponytail palm is probably 75 - 80 years old.

I have 2 in pots that I manage to kill off every winter because I forget to water them - but they always come back come springtime. I had no idea that full-grown specimens were so large and impressive! I won't forget to water them anymore.

Elephant-foot tree.

This tree is very tough...it tolerates extreme drought and cold very well.

I have one planted in 1992. They are not fast growers. They do well though. Mine is 10+ tall with a near 4' wide base. It flowers every couple of years. Mine has had some competition for light over the years..might have slowed it a bit.
Bougy is now pruned back!

It's a very hardy plant; however, does grow slowly.
