Last time I passed here it was just starting to flower. One of my chaps who lives near this field said he drove past recently and there was a lady in the middle posing to have her pic taken. He said he half expected it to be me!!!!

Never seen a field of Borage before, Kate. I thought it was lavender from the small photo.

Why is Borage grown en mass?

Siris, I wondered that too and thought perhaps it was Flax or Linseed. Farmers around the South Downs sometimes grow that.

There are many Borage fields here in Yorkshire and over in Lincolnshire.
Its grown for its oil to add to food(supplements), cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
