I've seen this growing on the side of the road here, and it goes by another name as well, that I can't recall at the moment. Caesalpinia gilliesii, is what I found online, or desert/mexican bird of paradise bush.

I am also growing this Plant. It is also called; Yellow Poinciana.. I almost lost it as I was watering it all the time to keep it growing. It lost all the leaves and died back. Wrote to the seller that sold me the seeds. He said quit watering for a while and it might come back. It did.
