Thanks Jaque, I like to do unusual colour combinations, sometimes it works and others I hide behind the shed!

Yes Bamboo, it's Canna Indica - Indian Shot. The leaves light up like candles when the suns bright.I think theres one on my gallery if you want to see what I mean.

Thanks Daisy, I'm very flattered that you like it that much. Let me know how it goes?

Must be more to the name than Canna indica though - I've got that growing in my garden and its not this colour, plus I have Canna indica Durban and a couple of others, but none of them has this colour leaf. Varietal name?

Not as far as I know Bamboo...I've had it for years and it was just in the ground, unprotected, and not lifted for winter until last year.
I was re-designing that part of the garden so it had to move. It stayed in the greenhouse in a bucket until I planted up the urn this spring, so it's a tough customer whatever it is.
You've got me wondering what it is now!

Most Canna Labels from GCs say Indica, Such a Bumma, its up to us to find out which one it is I suppose..I have a lovely Dark leaf'd one with Bright orange flowers and I havent a clue which one it is..Its Gorgeous Anyway so im not too bothered..

Well Daisy Dee,
I think I agree with you, the lack of name doesn't destract from the plant itself.
However, it's very popular and I do get asked about it a lot, just wouldn't like to give out wrong info really.
I've posted up 3 shots of it from last year, is it the same one that you have ?

Did it taste good?

It Looks the same jen, mine has only had 1 flower so far..

I need the name so I can go and buy it Daisydee - last thing I want is another like any of the five I've already got! I've got a dark leaved one with orange flowers too, can't remember what its called, but it doesn't have such a great leaf colour as the one in your pix, Junglejen.
