bought a new canna 'mactro',last month,grew the durban a few seasons ago,they do come back and produce new shoots if protected from the elements.fantastic displays,they are all over our town too.

Hi Keithbob, did you bring yours indoors? Mine are planted in the border, but I have bought huge pots to put them in if they have to come in to the garage. I don't know Mactro, I'll google it unless you have a pic??:-)

Can't believe I missed the flowering of your Canna,Ba. Wow,its gorgeous...I remember you waiting for it to flower too.Never mind,better late than never.I don't know anything about Canna's,so think I will google it.Is it still flowering?

hi bornagain,no i just cover them with double helping of fleece,my canna is about to come into flower soon,will post on here the flowers.

Hi keithbob, I would be afraid to leave then in situ, is it warmer in Caerphilly than the West Midlands? Maybe I'll leave one in as an experiment, not Durban though. let me know on here when you put your pics on:-)

ok,in bud now.i lost my last two cannas a few years ago,this is the first one i have grown since,(think it happened when i repotted them)

Eek do you mean it died when took it out of the ground to bring indoors? Is that why you leave them in the ground?
