Doing well after being set free from a collar!!

Lovely blue. It's pretty easy-going Simbad, and perfectly hardy :)

Yes Sheila is right there, we also grow the green with the blue flowers, but I prefer the yellow foliage, more of an impact.

I love the blue on this plant. I've never grown it....no idea why, except perhaps that I associate it with autumn and that has put me off in the past as I never much liked the autumn, but now I enjoy all four seasons (well, winter does drag on a bit!) So, I'll give it a go!

I am intrigued why this plant was wearing a collar, DD2 ?

Gee I had this plant for over three years, and it would not grow, so I took it out of the ground to inspect it, only to find it was still encased in a collar, put there by the nursery to force it to flower, happens so often, the collars should rot away, but some do not, so they strangle the plant instead, since taking it off, it has trebled in size, this has happened to us many times, so we always inspect the plants now and tear away the collar......

I dislike those collars intensely often you don't know they are there until the plant starts to suffer badly ! I'm glad your is responding to your TLC Angela ...

Thanks for explaining that, DD2, as you can guess my imagination was thinking along the lines of dog collars :)

I've never grown this either, very pretty, I had one in my hand yesterday at a GC the information on the label was all foreign though so put it back, not sure what conditions it liked or hardiness etc, the staff where pretty un knowledgable.
