I think I would move this away from your fence while you can I have two in very big pots and they have got wider lovy and lush.
I cut the brown leaves off mine I think its the wind burn rather than the cold.

Amy it is very protected, especially from severe weather, growing in all the wrong conditions!! which never cease to amaze me!
3p it is further away from the fence than the photo shows, and has been there a long time now, would not like to move it, very, very, slow growing, thankfully!
