Hello! Are these perfumed by any chance? Hope all is well Down Under.... we are having a taste of winter here, very grey, cold and dank.... my garden is dripping; but there's a kind of beauty about it all.

Thanks all. Antigone - no I haven't noticed any perfume to these. Yes downunder we're now approaching our summer - not my favourite time of year. The temps. have started rising, so have the humidity levels ... but we've actually had a few showers of rain which is unexpected so maybe we'll get a decent amount of rainfall again this summer after so many years of drought.

What a lovely bloom and very delicate lilac tips to the flower.

Bernieh:
Beautiful flowers! It does almost look like the
flowers from Cordyline stricta - Palm Lily. The
flowers are just lighter in color. : > )
I hope you receive some very good rains this wet
season! You don't want another drought.
We still need rain very badly here...I hope we receive
some good rains this year also. It seems highly likely
since it is an El Niño year.

Thanks Andy - yes the flowers sure are alike. Strangely we've been having some showers of rain over the last two weeks now ... so unusual at this time of year. Even though we're at the end of spring now, there's signs of new leaf growth on so many of the plants in the outdoor garden beds - they're just loving these light showers. Hope it's all a sign of a good wet season to come.

Yes, hopefully the showers are a good sign of good rains to come!
We've had nothing by dry, warm to hot weather over the last
several weeks...which is typical. Although, tomorrow we may
be getting some showers. I hope it actually happens. So many
times the meteorologist say we're going to have showers or rains
...and it doesn't happen. Happy planting! : > )

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you - hopefully the predictions will be correct ... for a change!

Love the tinges of colour mixed with the white effect.

Thanks Morgana ... it is quite pretty - I love it when the little pink and white buds open and reveal those long yellow-tipped stamens.

You will have to do a close up of one on its own there is one on the right of picture would look lovely on its own.

Bernieh:
Thanks for crossing you fingers! However, we
didn't receive one drop of rain. : > (
16 Nov, 2009
Oh no! Sorry ... will have to do fingers and toes next time!! We've had very unseasonal light showers of rain over the last two weeks ... but they've stopped now. Still it was lovely while it lasted.

Thanks! Yes, we'll have to cross our fingers and toes
next time. : > )
I hope you do receive your good rains this year! I'm staying
optimistic here...as it is an El Niño year.
