Coronilla valentina subsp. glauca 'Citrina'

Coronilla valentina subsp. glauca 'Citrina' (Coronilla valentina (Coronille))

Third year that this has sucessfully flowered and overwintered in a large pot at my front door. It has a lovely scent like jonquils.

Thanks terra...think it is the paler form than yours?

Thank you Scottish! Not too many pests and/or diseases yet! I have my sprayer primed and ready for the dreaded black spot, but the roses are hardly growing at all yet.

Hi Karen ..
yes... I have my Valentina in a more exposed position than yours .. by my arch ( see latest blog )

When I chose it, I decided the variety might be more hardy ... seems okay so far... survived the long cold winter...

That's good. I wonder if it is hardier, I have no idea....did you look into that then Terra? only, if I lose this one I could then try the other one, as I love it so much!

No, I just guessed it might be hardier.. Lol.
Do you prune your Coronilla to keep it compact ?
If so, ... when ? after flowering ?

4 May, 2013

Yes, it should be pruned in late spring after its finished flowering. I haven't really pruned it much yet, but this year I'm going to give it a proper haircut, as it does get a bit straggly.

Good idea ... :o)

It is supposed to respond well, even to being cut hard back.

That's reassuring ... :o)
Your sedum is doing well ...

4 May, 2013

Ah, now, that reminds me...so is yours! I planted it in the garden today. I'm not sure if I've added it to my catalogue...can you remind me of the name pretty please?

4 May, 2013

My goodness, how this has grown ... it's superb!
