my little guy is about four years old. I really love this plant but can't get it really going. Any info anyone has, would be real great.

I have a regular Jade that is really slow too......it's a few years older than yours. Actually the cats knocked it off of the window sill so now I have 4 pots of Jade ! The broken pieces rooted.

This is really neat. I've never seen a variegated Jade !

First time for me too, now I want one! My jade plant seems to thrive on neglect ( good thing). It is sprouting new growth on many of it's arms this spring, but like Diohio said it is a slow grower.

Jade plants here are extremely common here...my neighbor across the street from me had a jade forest with jade plants 12 feet tall. When I moved in my house, my neighbors removed two large dumpsters full of jade plants because they had coyotes living in them.

They are pretty when they bloom in December and January.
Does your plant bloom in Winter?

The variegated form of jade is not as widely grown here. I have seen some to 6 feet tall though. They grow smaller than the green form.

They do seem to have a more compact habit, Delonix. I love shows I see in California with jade hedges. I haven't had a bloom but I'd imagine I could place them in a cooler shadier area for a rest and see if it grants me some blooms. In november with my rhipsalidopsis gaertneri. I'd like to accompish some indoor blooming.

Yes, the cooler and longer nights will initiate flower buds, however, I've read they rarely bloom as a houseplant. I think it's because they need full sun.
