Do you find slugs? nibble them then. That would be unfortunate just bought a Dodecatheon (white).

That's a beautiful little plant. The Hosta too. Mine are surrounded with the crushed eggshells I've saved through the winter.

No Siris the slugs don't bother this, I'm its worst enemy its one of those plants that disappears completely when its done its thing, the times I've nearly dug it up!!!
Thanks Thorney :-) I really must do something to protect mine, was going to try the garlic spray although strangely the slugs seem more drawn to the iris this year, crushed eggshells a good idea maybe I should start collecting for next year that's not something you have to keep remembering to do like spraying is it.

So very pretty Kathy I have this on the rockery and are pleased to say it is also flowering [mine always seem later than everyone elses] also pleased to see the Hosta is throwing up its lovely leaves it is a really striking one, hope the slugs dont get it!

Daylily I'm sorry I don't know the name just called Carole's hosta :-), think this is the third year in my garden and it seems to be a medium size one if that's any help, Carole might know more :-)
