There’s a lot more buds ready to open up soon.

I have many cuttings of a deep red Epi but they have never flowered for me. Last year I took the original plant out of its pot to repot it in Cacti & Succulent compost that I bought to repot all my Cacti. They seem to love it as they have all grown wonderfully - but still no signs of buds even - let alone flowers! They are all in small 9cm (3") pots. They root very well & so I've ended up with lots of plants but no flowers!

Balcony,

The secret to flowers is lots of bright light and cool night temps, for many species. Nights temps should be from 45 to 58 degrees f. in winter. These temps are the normal night temps in San Diego during winter. Epiphyllum oxypetalum is a summer bloomer.

I have several other Epiphyllum varieties flowering right now. I’ll post pics in the next few days.

Thanks for the info, Andy! Mine are in a bright SW facing window & get all the sun going from about 1pm till gone 6 or 7pm. No direct sunlight though. as for night temps they get whatever is going form about 14C in winter to about 20C in hot spells in the summer - perhaps more when we are having a heat wave. I can't do anything much about night temps! They are growing like mad at present!
