Precocious Eranthis?

Only the one Winter Aconite so far this year. This is the clump? under an Azalea. The clump of E. hyemalis behind the front wall, no sign yet. The sword shaped leaves are itinerant self seeded Libertia peregrinans. They will need to be gently eased out.

I've some libertia too, I do like the little flowers it produces. I haven't any aconites now, although I did have a lovely clump from a patient many years ago...

My Libertias don't seem to go dormant. Spring seems around the corner, one of my Robins has been collecting nesting material.

That’s interesting Sue. I love Libertia peregrinans but mine has yet to have any seed whereas L. Grandiflora has masses!
