I've decided, though, that although these are beautiful, I really prefer the simplicity of the hardy ones.....I could imagine wearing them as earrings!!!

So if I had to choose - it would be 'Hawkshead'....

I know what you mean Spritz, they look lovely as an individual plant, but I don't think they mix too well in my border with other perennials.

I use these as plants for containers, and have three or four hardy ones in the borders. That seems to work.

They do give a lovely splash of colour right at the back end of the year though, so well worth keeping!

Yes, and they're useful for shady areas, too. :-)
