Karen, it 'is' the one !
That's how i knew what i was looking at :-))
When i saw them on the tv i knew i wanted them and when they were right there infront of me i just 'had to have' !!!

I told the stall holder that they'd been featured on GW and she then understood why they'd been so popular !
She said that in the olden days of GW they always knew what plants would be selling well because 'they' were the ones featured in the aired episode !

Big tip coming up - from a Nurseryman. If you grow them from corms in pots next spring, as soon as the green shoots appear, give them copious water. I did that this year, and IT WORKED!!! I had flowers on every corm, where previous attempts have had about 50% success. :-))))))

thanks for that B, will definately try that in spring :-)

I love this flower, white is especially stunning in my garden which is mostly shady. do you know the full name of it, i would like to plant some of them ~ next spring??

25 Sep, 2010

Stickitoffee, it's not a plant for shade - but you could grow some in pots to the flowering stage and put the pots in position, i suppose.

It is sometimes known still as 'Acidanthera' or its full latin name is 'Gladiolus callianthus murielae'.
