Beautiful. A bit like a darker heartbreaker.

It is another mini-hebe, and should only get to 70 cm (whatever that is in inches!!! lol.)

It is very similar to the heartbreaker , they are lovely colours .......

Thanks, Amy - it comes from the same breeder, and it's a little darker. I put them side by side to see! I've forgotten the name of the other one they had, but it was a difficult choice between them.

They seem to be quite easy to take cuttings from Barbara , I have 3 nice little ones growing from the heatbreaker ......

I like the colour of this, very attractive.

I do like the compact Hebes and this one is very striking........

I wish I could remember where I read about them. It was very recent, so I might be able to find the article.

lovely colour barbara, very pretty ;o))

Thanks, Sandra - I almost wish I'd splashed out and bought the other one, as well! Too late now - unless the GC had a lot of them in.

25 Feb, 2010

im sure you could find one if you put your mind to it barbara lol

Not after the spree with Louise on Tuesday, and then the plant stall yesterday - I've also got some plants on order..:-((( SIGH...

25 Feb, 2010

70cm equals approx. 27 inches so a lovely height for this gorgeous Hebe . . . love the colouring.

25 Feb, 2010

I hope it does grow to that height! I am hopeless at centimetres. Showing my age, here! LOL.

25 Feb, 2010

good job you have a big garden barbara lol, did louise buy some to

25 Feb, 2010

We had a great time, and yes, her 'bill' was bigger than mine! lol.

I'm replacing some casualties, Sandra, and one, the Lavatera, left a HUUUUGGGGE space!

25 Feb, 2010

i have a lavertera and has survived, didnt think it would cause is a new cutting i took last summer, so im pleased its still around, there is a smaller one to so will see how that goes on :o)

25 Feb, 2010

It was my own fault, Sandra - I normally cut them half back in the autumn, but I didn't. So when the snow came, it split the whole thing right down to its base. I'm treating it as an opportunity to revamp the bed! ;-))))

25 Feb, 2010

they can get out of hand cant they if you dont keep up with them, got cutting from friend and she had to really go mad at it because was taking over, well a good excuse to revamp then :o))

25 Feb, 2010

I couldn't save it - so out it came. I have another one, and that's OK.

There are at least two more dead plants in that area, so I'll take them out next, and dig the ground over. I'm trying to be positive, but it's hard to lose plants, isn't it.

25 Feb, 2010

yes it is hard barbara when we take time to grow them and all the hard work we put into our gardens but guess thats part and parcel, if it all looked good and didnt die we wouldnt be able to buy more :o))

25 Feb, 2010

True! We also 'push the boundaries' and try to grow plants that aren't really suitable for our own situations. That sometimes works, sometimes not.
