Hedychium coronarium

Now this is so beautiful ... this is on my 'wish list'!

its a beatiful Hedychium . lovely perfume, there are other colours too . this is my first flower.

its so lovely, such a pretty flower

you can smell the perfume before you reach the plant

That is really lovely, I am hoping I can pamper mine into flowering, it is a Coronarium has lovely leaves but no flowers as yet!!

I just got another one with .A Hedychium "orange" flowers I havent got a species name . when it flowers nrxt christmas I may be able to get the species name.

Where do you buy them from Pitta garden centers, market ,? I bought mine from a car boot I had never seen them before.

Ebay, nurseries, markets,garden shops. I got my latest one from e bay auction.

this is such a great ginger, personally i think its the strongest smelling one, when they bloom you can smell them yards away!!! great cut flowers too!!!

It does have a great perfume . I rarely pick flowers I prefer to enjoy them in the garden .

Lovely flower, Pitta! I'm going to try and get one. Is it hardy? I remember seeing something like this in my uncle's garden in India many years ago when I was a child. The climate is hot and humid over there.

Same climate here . Its hardy, and flowers in Brisbane as well .
