Thanks for the comments. The heliotrope outperformed all past years this time round. Huge blooms and almost three successions throughout the season. This is the spot for them surely, an next to the front door, so I can always get a whiff.

Katarina, Temperate seems fine for it, coming from the high Andes mountainsides of South America, but it does best for me kept moist to moderately dry and in a spot without a draft. Here afgainst the wall of the house, it is under the porch roof, so the only water that 'happens' to it comes from me, breezes don't go through so temperature changes are slow, no shocks. Great benefit to spoil it right off with warmth, bright light and a little food when it is a little start. Once established it just rewards.

That green frame of the window or door perfectly suits with the plant. Very nice.

Katarina, thank you about the trim, a good hue to partner with many colors. The landlord built and painted this place, calling it the green house, not knowing they would end up with a full garden from a renter.....lol, and an indoor garden.

Aleyna! :-) I looked into it wondering if it would live well indoors. It likes lots of light, but may really love your balcony....being just the right climate. Keep an eye out for it, its well worth a try.
