That's a share DD2. I made the mistake of treating these like the orientals and chopped of all the old foliage - bad mistake and won't be making that again ;)

From what I've read (found on intetnet) It's really a matter of taste. I read a lot of garden blogs (not GOY) and the majority only cut off the unsightly leaves on these and take them all off orientals.
Makes sense as I cut off some healthy looking leaves and even questioned myself as I was doing it. It doesn't look half the plant it was last year. I've bought a new one Pirouette, flowering with leaves. I'll get a shot and post for you.

Isn't it Simbad - the foliage on this one is lovely - except I cut it off like I do with the Orientals!!
