they are beautifull Gt, and last a long time if kept cooler, i move mine away from sun and heat once in flower :o)

Good idea. This is staying put since its all strapped in now, but I will remember to do that next year. :-)

Shame it's bent over & facing towards the floor, it's such a lovely flower! I've never had that problem with all the 100s I've grown over the years. Sometimes the stem does lean with the weight of the four or five flowers open but over have they curved over like yours! Could it be that it doesn't get enough light? They are after all from sunnier climes than Alaska!!!

A sister of mine gave me one as an Xmas present back in 1981. When we returned to Spain in 82 I took it with me & for many years I had 100s of plants more grow from it! I can't remember buying any red ones in Spain but I did buy a couple of white & pink I think. I have many, many photos of them in the different flats where we lived during the nearly 20 years we were over there.

I'm not sure its the light. It was nearer the lamp last year and earlier, the sun is tempting it outward a bit towards the windows. I think it is that coupled with its size at a whopping 3ft stem that bows it over. And now once the flowers opened, the stem could take no more. Must stake the next one. This broke off today just from the bloom weight and I have it in a vase now.

My flowers on the living room table have bent AWAY from the direction of the light! The pot has not been moved in weeks & the main light comes from the small East facing window. There is plenty more light in the room from the big windows that look out onto the balcony/street. They just lean in the opposite direction.

Interesting. Mine always reach out for southeasterly.

Mine just seem to bend away from the source of light!

I do wonder, we have more atmosphere this far north, the light is all yellow and green spectrum. Many half light plants here enjoy full sun. I keep them half light upstairs for summer under the light, maybe the greenhouse this year.
