I've just looked on Google and some are described as semi-evergreen to evergreen but may lose leaves in hard winter! I asked because there is one in the garden opposite me which I have never noticed before! The flowers seem a bit bigger so I presume it is a different variety. Perhaps I will wander over and collect some seeds or maybe take a cutting :)

They're as tough as old boots so i'd think a cutting would take easily.
I've removed 2 of the 6 footers, 2 of the 3 footers and 3 of the 6" ones in the past 18 months.
What a shame they couldn't have gone to someone like you who'd have really appreciated them instead of a neighbour who's managed to KILL them .... a feat in itself !

I'll have to let you know about this one in January? Perhaps the one you're looking at is 'Hidcote'. Gee.

If it is Hidcote it's definately evergreen.
2 of those i mentioned were Hidcote. Never lost a leaf.

The one opposite is about 3-4 foot tall and has been in flower for ages. I think I notice it more now because the garden is so bare. The bungalow is up for sale and before old Sid died he had the flowerbeds turfed to make life easier. Sad :)

I'd definitely 'borrow' a few cuttings.
