Protected by the shrubs. A C coum also in bud to the left of shot.

this years beech leaves look wonderful but I know they are harbouring slugs etc.

No its one of the corydalis. would have to look back at my book to be certain of the actual one.

It was the foliage that made me think it might be aqua.
There's other plants with similar greenery, but I can't recall them.
I must get back into the habit of making notes.
