Yes have some ready to bloom this week . The slugs have done much damage to my irises the last 2 years . Very frustrating. Do you allow the seed pods to develop? And grow more from them? I always thought it was best to dead head them after blooms are spent , but many the irises do not bloom a second season .

Look at those, they're a painting in themselves..

Nancy, unless I have made a deliberate cross I always take off the spent flower heads. I usually get 3 seasons from a clump before I need to divide because they have stopped flowering.

What else?
See who else is growing Iris germanica (Orris).
See who else has plants in genus Iris.

Are your Bearded just flowering in Canada? In the south of the Uk, mine have finished and several have got good size seed pods developing.
