My little magnolia tree is not sited in the best position (the ground is too wet) but it is full of furry buds.

Is it a Stellata Gee? I have one in a boggy shaded site and it's only just beginning to shoot.

Yes, it is Stellata. I had it in my back garden first and it didn't do anything so I moved it to the front in a pot and it faded even faster! In desperation I planted in the front garden and it seems to have survived but I do worry about it sitting in water all winter (especially this last year).
