it's such a pretty little flower, so perfectly formed. I'm still waiting LOL

Bonny flowers and early in bloom as well.....still doesn't make up for the lack of sniff though!

Oh, it does, Karen - remember that this is a climbing rose, so it's up on the gazebo roof being trained to drape over it gracefully (haha) so it's quite hard to get your nose up there - unless you have a stepladder about your person??

Thanks - have you ever seen one 'for real'? I didn't recognise it as a rose, but loved it at first sight and researched it, ending up with 'creating' the right space for it!

No B, I've never heard of this rose, and as far as I know I've never seen it. Now that I look at the picture again, it has foliage that is not totally rose-like doesn't it. The flower reminds me of some of the David Austin roses but smaller of course...jude the obscure was the one that sprang to mind when I saw it at first.

It is an early flowerer. I'd have to check in my book to see exactly when it 'should' flower,as it's late this year, like everything else!

the beauty of the flowers when they all open is stunning, it's also a thornless one, so that makes it easy to place, seems fairly disease free too, here we have blackspot heaven, and it doesn't even touch it. In fact, apart from it growing huge, there is really very little that I can find wrong with it :))))

I do so agree...it's just a beautiful addition to the garden and I love it. :-))))
