25 Sep, 2010
Yes - I have several roses in flower. :-))
25 Sep, 2010
Me too Barbara, Rhapsody is flowering her head off, and Graham Thomas, Lady Hillingdon, and two unknown pink ones, not sure for how long, very cold here tonight.
25 Sep, 2010
Handel has more buds, too, and Prima Ballerina! I haven't checked out Lady Hillingdon....now you've mentioned her, I might.
Sayonara! (lol)

I've got a little bud coming on my new Rhapsody in Blue which I had to cut right back cos of the black spot, so hopefully I will see another flower before winter sets in. Some little blighter has started taking litle holes out of he leaves now, better watch out if I catch him!

Ha ha Spritz........just to tell you have organized 3 open days for next year, and open for private parties no more than 15, wont get any cake though!!
26 Sep, 2010
Oooh! I muast check my Rhapsody! Is it leaf-cutter bees, Bell?
Dd - we thought about 'by appointments', but parking is our issue - we borrow a field, and the poor farmer can't be expected to keep removing the sheep up and down the lane, can he? Mind you, it's a real treat watching his collies in action. I might get groups of college students, though - their tutor asked me if I'd allow them to use the garden as a 'model'...hmmm...shall I give them all a shoehorn? LOL

Don't really know Spritz as I never can catch anything on them when I check out the leaves, they leave very small, neat holes though.
27 Sep, 2010
i don't think leaf cutter bees do that - so I can't think what else it could be. :-((
27 Sep, 2010
I'll try and get a phot to show you Spritz.
27 Sep, 2010
Put it on as a question - someone will know!
27 Sep, 2010
Do you mean the garden or you as a model? as our garden is so small I am hoping for a modest amount of people, if we had as many as Louis not sure what I would do, and our eldest daughter is making the cakes, how on earth does one work that one out?
27 Sep, 2010
The garden, Dd. He wants to bring students to take a look, as an alternative to the garden at the College....a domestic garden, as I think they're on a design course.
As a new garden in the NGS, you'll have to be prepared for an influx. That's what we were told, and I'm sure it's true. Make more cakes than you think you'll need - plus scones which can be whipped out of the freezer if you're running low.
27 Sep, 2010
Good idea, scones it is.
28 Sep, 2010
Glad to be of assistance, Dd. <:-)))))) (hat on - it's raining here)
29 Sep, 2010
That's a shame - is it an older one?
1 Oct, 2010
Got a bud on the Rhapsody in Blue rose this week, hope we don't have too much more rain or they flowers will just bloom and go soggy.
1 Oct, 2010
I'll look at mine if and when I can - it's getting even wetter out there since I walked Henry!
1 Oct, 2010
It is here too and my car just failed its test so it looks like a few days of cadging lifts for me, or failing that the good old buses...lol
1 Oct, 2010
Oh no - that really is a nuisance for you. We couldn't manage without a car here... we're so rural, there isn't a bus at all. We had 10 mm of rain today. I hope it's better tomorrow, as I still have a lot more bulbs to plant.
1 Oct, 2010
Forecast is good for us tomorrow Spritz, so I hope you get the same. We deserve it after a day like today lol.
1 Oct, 2010
We do. I shall get busy - I've got about 300 bulbs to plant!!!
1 Oct, 2010
Good luck with that one then!!
1 Oct, 2010
Thanks. I shall need it - I have to clear out the tired summer bedding, first! I can't see me getting them all in.
1 Oct, 2010
Not now the nights are drawing in anyway....
1 Oct, 2010
Noooo...it's dark at 7!
2 Oct, 2010
Great colour :o)
2 Oct, 2010
Thanks, Pip - I planted a white one, an apricot and a yellow several years ago now, in a group.
