I had a golden hop a few years ago, but it went berserk! How do you keep it in check and not shooting up everywhere? I had to dig all mine out, but it is lovely and covers really quickly:-)

Thanks everyone, for the great comments, it is a beautiful wall, you feel like you could be in the French countryside looking at it....:o) The rambler isn't as large this year, in the Autumn winds half of it snapped off, but it's still lovely.
That's the thing with them isn't it Ba.......I keep snapping the tendrils off other things, but other than that I love it, only wish it was evergreen, that would be perfect!

After I managed to dig it out, I put it in a pot and was amazed at how it grew even with such a confined root system. When I tried to move the pot, I found massive roots underneath into the gravel, fanning out for yards lol:-)
