Roystonea regia - Cuban Royal Palms

Roystonea regia - Cuban Royal Palms (Roystonea regia - Cuban Royal Palms)

These Royal Palms were loving the very hot weather. We had 7 days of really hot weather from 95 - 100ºF (35 - 38ºC) here in San Diego. Photo taken Oct. 24, 2019.

I agree. I have to go the the atrium at the NY Botanical Gardens to see palm trees.

Bathgate:

If you look closer in the photo, you can see Fishtail Palms on the right in a large cluster (Caryota mitis) next to the Lord Howe Island Palms (Howea fosteriana) and in the shade in the center of the photo there's large Butterfly Palms (Dypsis lutescens).

I do really like the fishtail palm. I wish I can have one in my front garden. It's a little quirky, but so am I. Good match!

I really love Giant Thai Mountain Fishtail Palm (Caryota gigas)! It's a behemoth of a palm, though. It's really only for extremely large gardens, parks. I see them planted sometimes in small gardens here, sadly most have to be taken out. They're too large.

Here's a pics for about 10 years ago.

They really stand out and way too big for my tiny front garden.

They are very showy palms. They're too large for most gardens except for parks and very large properties.
